The phase sequence and phase loss sensor is designed to protect electric motors and other equipment powered by a three-phase mains supply. The sensor will activate if the voltage on one or more phases falls below a set minimum value or exceeds a set maximum value. The CKF-320-TRMS also monitors the phase sequence of the supply, preventing the motor from rotating in the wrong direction.
The phase sequence and phase loss sensor is designed to protect electric motors supplied from a three-phase mains supply in the following situations:
• a loss of voltage in at least one phase;
• a voltage drop in at least one phase below the set value;
• voltage rise in at least one phase above the set value
• incorrect phase sequence.
Disconnection is carried out with a set delay to avoid accidental shutdowns due to temporary mains disturbances.
By measuring the true root mean square (TrueRMS) voltage, the sensor ensures correct operation even when operating in a heavily disturbed mains supply.
