What makes Thermo&Energy-D stand out?

  • Thermo&Energy-D is an advanced WiFi temperature controller designed for direct control of heating elements. Built-in energy measurement and comprehensive telemetry enable real-time monitoring of temperature, heater operation and energy consumption, along with access to historical data.

  • The controller is compatible with many types of temperature sensors, including popular NTC sensors, which in many cases allows you to use your existing installation and connect the new controller without replacing the sensors.

  • A significant advantage is its independence from internet access — even if the connection is lost, the controller continues to follow the operating schedule and maintains the set temperature.

  • An additional temperature sensor can act as a primary overheating protection, which is particularly important in underfloor heating systems and for protecting floor panels.

  • Thermo&Energy-D enables the creation of complex automation systems and integration with other smart home devices. Thanks to support for MQTT and REST API, the controller can work with modern IoT systems and building automation.

The device has been designed with modern installations in mind:

  • underfloor heating,

  • heating mats,

  • heating cables,

  • electric radiators,

  • infrared heaters,

  • cooling systems,

  • HVAC systems,

  • home and building automation,

  • smart home systems.

Thanks to its compact DIN rail housing, the controller is ideal for installation in electrical switchboards and control cabinets.

Timers

Thermo&Energy-D allows you to create comprehensive timers tailored to the user’s daily routine. The controller can automatically adjust the temperature depending on:

  • the time of day,

  • day of the week,

  • the heating season,

  • astronomical events.

Examples of applications:

  • automatic temperature reduction at night,

  • reducing heating when the household is away,

  • pre-heating rooms before returning home,

  • scheduling underfloor heating,

  • temperature control in offices and commercial premises according to working hours.

This solution enhances user comfort and effectively reduces energy consumption and heating costs.

Triggers and smart system responses

The FOX system allows you to create automations based on triggers, i.e. events that initiate a specific action by the controller.

A trigger may include, amongst other things:

  • a change in temperature,

  • reaching a specific temperature threshold,

  • the activation of another device,

  • exceeding a defined power value,

  • a change in the relay status,

  • time schedule,

  • data from other FOX system devices.

In practice, Thermo&Energy-D can:

  • work with additional Fox devices controlling, for example, radiators,

  • close or open the blinds when the set temperature is exceeded,

  • switch off the heating when a window is opened,

  • control circulation pumps or ventilation,

  • be part of home automation scenes.

Thanks to integration with MQTT and REST API, the controller can also work with external smart home systems, e.g. Home Assistant and IoT platforms.

Automation and smart home scenes

Thermo&Energy-D can form part of the larger FOX building automation system. This allows you to create complex scenes and interdependencies between devices.

Example automations:

  • ‘Leaving home’ mode, which automatically lowers the temperature in all rooms,

  • “Return” mode, which restores comfortable heating settings,

  • integration with roller blinds and the sun protection system,

  • automatic reduction of heating output during periods of high energy consumption,

  • smart zone heating management,

  • integration with energy consumption monitoring.

The FOX system also allows you to create scenes that can be activated with a single click in the mobile app.

Push notifications and operation monitoring

Thermo&Energy-D allows push notifications to be sent directly to the user’s smartphone. This gives the user constant oversight of the heating system’s operation.

Notifications can alert the user to:

  • the set temperature being exceeded,

  • the risk of the floor overheating,

  • changes in the device’s status,

  • unusual energy consumption,

  • a faulty temperature sensor.

Combined with telemetry and historical data, the user gains a complete overview of the system’s operation — both in real time and retrospectively.

How to protect underfloor heating?

For underfloor heating, it is recommended to use a second temperature sensor mounted directly in the floor. This allows you to effectively limit the maximum floor temperature and protect finishing materials.

How to reduce heating costs?

Using time schedules and energy measurement functions allows you to reduce electricity consumption and optimize the operation of the heating system.

How to choose a temperature sensor?

  • DS18B20 — recommended for modern smart home and building automation installations. Digital transmission ensures high interference immunity and stable temperature measurement.

  • NTC 10 kΩ — the most commonly used sensor in underfloor heating systems. A popular standard used in heating mats and cables from many manufacturers.

  • KTY81-210 — a good choice for installations requiring stable and repeatable temperature measurement, especially in automation systems and technical applications.

  • NTC 1 kΩ / 4.7 kΩ / 25 kΩ — used primarily for use with existing installations or sensors from specific manufacturers. Choosing the right version allows you to easily upgrade your system without having to replace the sensors.

Can the controller control high power?

Yes. Thermo&Energy-D enables direct control of loads up to 4 kW (16 A), so in many installations there is no need for an additional contactor.
